I did a fresh install since the last time I used PM OS/2.

Daniela's PATCHLDR.DOC says "recent motherboards ----- fail proper
detection".

Not if you mean that literally, because a shorted LED would never
light. If you mean that in the standard American vernacular; an
umbrella reference to any and all electrical problems, including a
faulty LED driver, probably not because it seems to work OK under DOS.
