I know that the Plextor drives has been getting the press in the recent
discussions on CD-R/W but I've seen the speed limit on development of Plextor
drives (12x10x32) so I'd like to pitch the case for the Yamaha alternative.
I've got an older SCSI 4x4x16 that I've been pretty happy with and they make a
20x10x40 SCSI that's currently available. It's advertised as $229/$289
(int/ext) in a Dirt Cheap Drives ad so although they may not be cheapest, you
know they're still available. Just thought folks would want to know ...
