If it was testcase, given testcase's reason for existance, you will rarely 
if ever find a readme.  The rule of thumb with testcase is, unless you 
enjoy experimenting with your system or have been instructed by IBM 
personnel to go there and get a specific file, you have no need to go 
there.

Either that or assume the problem is not kernel related, at least for now,

The recommended update kernels are on CD#3 and are not packed, IIRC.
