Steven,
Thanks for your answers (which I have deleted from your reply) to all of
my questions . I left the one quote in this message because you were so
right. I did not get any nuts and bolts information from the books.
What I want to do is this:
Be able to print to a Lexmark 5700 and another printer. The second
printer will be a Lexmark E210 or a Laserjet 4. I know the latter is an
old bugger but there are drivers for it in Warp 4 and the two DOS programs
I have used for years, WordPerfect 6.0 and Quattro Pro 3.
I am considering the Laserjet because it was used at home, has been in
storage for two years, and costs only $100. It took me 3 to 6 months to
use 2500 sheets of continuous paper when I was printing pretty
indiscriminantly on my worn out (after about 8 years) dot matrix printer.
I would like to be able to add a scanner to the network at some future
date if that does not increase the cost of the two printer network too
much.
My pc has an Assu A7V333 board, an AMD 1 mgh processor, 256 mb of ram,
and pci slots only. How do you suggest I proceed?
TIA.
Jack
