Used to be about a buck. High energy absorption. Good across power
lines.

I think the 555 was developed while I was in school; by Signetics. It
was considered as one part to do everything. Thousands of apps have
been written for it. Unfortunately, it doesn't do anything very well.
For a debounce or pulse stretcher, try a 45138.
