Hi Butch,

Where can I get these files?

I think it wants you to enter "A" (or maybe "A:") so it knows which
floppy to use. There are several different kinds of floppy drives, but
unless your machine is old your floppy drive is probably a 1.44MB 3.5"
model -- the kind it wants.

Use a text editor. I've never used Windows but I think there's
something called Notepad which does this. You don't want to use a Word
Processor because it puts extra characters into the file which will
really mess things up -- things like control headers which you can't see
and special characters that say when to change fonts, etc.

What do you want to check in your CONFIG.SYS file? You can display it
on the screen if you want by typing:

more

at any DOS prompt.

What error message do you get? Since these are boot disks, you have to
put the boot code onto them along with the files you downloaded. Wow,
it's been a long time since I made a boot disk and I can't remember how
to make an OS/2 boot disk if you don't already have OS/2 running. I
know that

FDISK /NEWMBR

will create a new Master Boot Record on the floppy, but I can't remember
how to get the boot loader and kernel onto the floppy. In DOS it was
the SYS command. Do you have any hidden files in your floppy's root
directory? To see if you have any, from a command prompt run

A:
cd \
attrib *

and see if any of the files have the S, H or R flags (System, Hidden,
Readonly). If you do, are any of them named OS2BOOT, OS2LDR or OS2KRNL?
