Hello
Your printer switches discussion is missing one important aspect:
"AUTOMATIC" switching !
Since years I am using an Auto Data Switch:
It's an OEM product and the model is called "MP-401B" ...
... and I believe its original brand is ATEN !
Up to 4 PC's are auto-sharing ONE printer !
An active task is visualized with control lights !
Here is the URL:
http://www.aten-usa.com/products/productcategory.php?Category=Auto
Switches
but there was a problem when I tried ;-( Perhaps later you may
have more luck ;-)
My current environment:
Here are 3 systems, my Desktop, my Notebook plus an experimental
system and
on and off an additional customer or guest system for some
experiments or tests.
The systems normally are printing via a SMC 700x Barricade Router
to a Canon
BJc-6100 but they all are connected via this MP401B to a special
printer, a Canon
BJ-230 for big sheets (A3) but only in b/w !
Regards, svobi
