Something recently and suddenly began happening in one of my Mail
accounts in NS
4.61 (which is under its own User Profile) that is very annoying,
and I can't figure out
why. When I just move the scrollbar over mail items -- unopened
or previously read --
or single-click the mouse over them, it is as though they are
being they are being re-
downloaded each time, with the progress bar indicator . . . even
though they are already
here on my system. Some mail items here were always deliberately
not opened, or not
opened for a while (for various reasons), and so they remained
listed in boldface, which
reminded me of their status. For example, I won't open any Spam
that gets through, or
suspected Spam. But now, the scrollbar or mouse passing over
them undoes the
bolding, so they are no longer distinguished at a glance as being
unread. Now it is
as if they are being opened in the background, even though I
don't want them to be.
This almost feels like something nefarious going on in the
background -- a trojan,
or web-bugs at work, busily phoning home. But then, why only on
one account ?
Why on every piece of mail in that account. (Same problem with
it being any possible
corruption of NS.) Javascript is usually turned OFF.
I have not changed any settings, this never happened previously
in this mail account,
and it does not happen in the other two mail accounts under NS.
Can someone tell me
what is going on here, and how I might correct it.
Jordan
