And please try this command:
ping 206.117.18.8
That's the dotted decimal IP address for www.lafn.org. You _should_ get
some response lines that look like this:
64 bytes from 206.117.18.8: icmp_seq=0. time=60. ms
If you can ping the above dotted decimal IP address but the nslookup
commands (above) still don't work, try pinging the dotted decimal
address entry (or entries) on the TCP/IP Configuration "Hosts" tab page
that I mentioned in my message an hour ago. That way we'll know if you
can reach the DNS server(s). (Your email works so it appears that you
can reach your DNS, but the nslookup failures don't make sense.)
