Requires it for what ? And I'm a bit surprised that this hybrid DSL did
not require a service call for installation.

The 50 bucks / mo. seems to have become pretty standard.

If you are running continuously for an extended period, do you remain
connected, and with the same IP ? (As opposed to being dropped off, and
having to renew a lease.) Have you benchmarked your u/l - d/l connections ?
