Hi Steven,
Thanks for your concerning feedback.
With the assistance of my friend my new router was brought back
to normal function ;-))
I did not think of it but with ZOC and the correct settings we
were able to see and check
the IP plus PWD and some settings ;-)

After a factory reset everthing was back to normal and the rest
went easy and smooth !

As for the SMC:
I opened the box and could not find a fuse !
There are also no visible signs of a short circuit or burns !!

The little transformer between the power plug and power switch
may be malfunction
due the higher power shock !?

I will ask SMC about a possible repair ;-(

The new router may have some sort of full reset switch.
Ususally, there's
a small hole in the case to access it. However, if the flash
upgrade
didn't take, you make have scrambled code inside the flash chip.
The only
solution I know for this is to remove the chip and reprogram it
use a
hardware programmer.

The SMC may just have a blown fuse. It's worth checking.
