Wisemachine is not either the Software Installer or a software installer.
It is something else. It can install some applications. APL2 is not one
of the applications it can install.
The Software Installer IBM is talking about is the program that runs when
you invoke install.exe from your APL2 CD or diskettes. If that install
fails, tell me how it fails and I might be able to help.

I don't know that you need to reinstall Wisemachine. Since you didn't say
what you did to cause this, this might be the expected result of your
actions.
