Hello
in the VOICE Newsletter 09/2002 article Stanley Sidlov describes
how
to get printed faster in a network ;-)
With this article I installed SLPR and got it working ;-))
With this article I also learnt about the LANready CP-830 Print
Server ;-)))
http://store.yahoo.com/comready/nettec3por10.html
Since my SMC 7004 Barricade has only one, non-bidi, PP and I
would like
to connect more than one printer I decided to buy this LANready
CP-830
for US$ 76 (normal price US$129) at COMready.com and got it these
days !
Unfortunately I am not able to configure this unit ;-(
The whole afternoon I was trying with connecting, disconnecting,
rebooting
and reconfiguring with no success ;-((
My networks IP addresses are 192.168.144.2xx up to 254, where the
SMC
7004 BR / EU is set to 254.
The worstations static addresses are 210, 220, 230, 240 and 250
and
the addresses from 201 to 209 are dynamic adresses and
all my networks IP assingments are working properly !!
My intention now with the new Print Server is:
configure its 3 PP with these following 3 IP addresses:
192.168.144.251 / 252 / 252 serving the 3 ports 1 to 3 !?
To configure the Print Server I connect the unit with the single
cable
to the NIC of my PC.
A PING to the connected unit (default 192.168.0.1) gives no
answer.
Trying an access with TELnet nor with the WEB browser doesn't
work ;-(((
What do I wrong ???
Your advice, hints and suggestions are very welcome !
Kind regards, svobi
