OK, I think you have it backwards. mr2ilda is used when you using
sendmail to received mail and you want ice to "receive" the mail from
sendmail.

To send to verizon via smtp, all you should need to to is tell ICE to send
mail via smtp and, most likely, set the SMTP host to mail.verizon.net.

If you really want to use sendmail, then there's a bit more to it.

Let me know what you really are trying to do.
