Personally I've always disliked the Back Again/2X products, but there
are a lot of people who really like them. The last version I purchased
was the Server Edition v 2.10d.

By contrast, I always found the DOS backup program Fastback easy to use
and easy to configure (I used the "Advanced" setting). I currently
use mirroring software (dSync) and backup to hard disk.

It's not the number of options that bothers me, mind you, but the
clarity of the design. First of all, I dislike icons and much prefer
written words to tell me what something is or will do. Second, I like a
logical flow in a design, hence I found Fastback and such programs as
the system-oriented program Priority Master (which sets the relative
priorities of the programs you run) extremely easy to use but felt that
Back Again/2X constantly had me in a maze searching for the right
combination of settings and the proper pathway to the goal.

GUI design is an art, and everyone has a different preference. I
personally like a very structured approach that gives me a flowchart
feel. That way I don't have to wake up when I run the program.
