No. It just takes some work, just as with any fresh install. You can
install eCS with the IBM desktop if you want.

>did see your post elsewhere about beta testers not giving you enough

It's been said before. The willingness to stay the course is a mile-wide
and an inch deep.

>(So why do I have time to pontificate on this list? Hmm...)

Humm...

So am I. One of the reasons I use OD's Tab LaunchPad is because it allows
me to configure this kind of thing. Also, at the expense of a bit of
screen space, it allows me to switch to a new tab in a single mouse click.
Can't you delete and add them back in the right order?

>And I write an installation script every time I install something so

For me, the installation is easy. I don't need a script for that. What's
hard is recalling all the post installation customizations. Things such as
customized toolbars for WordPro and so on. Some apps keep this stuff in
the application directory and will pick it up when you reinstall. Some
don't.

>ASSIGN, JOIN and SUBST are all DOS and I don't have TVFS installed --
>anybody know of an OS/2 way to remap one path to another?

You said it yourself. TVFS. However, for a one shot like an install, you
might as well copy to a work directory. This is pretty much automatic
here. I keep the install images zip'ed up and unzip them to a work
directory for use. There's a non-obvious benefit to this. The CRC check
pretty much prevents attempting to install a set of corrupted files.

www.acronymns.com?

This is not paranoia. It's reality. My INI's contain more than a few
items with an unknown history. Every now an then, I will move a few to a
backup INI and wait for something to happen.

I also know of a few apps that hide registration data in non-obvious EAs.
Stay worried.

>I wish the guys who write to INI files would also supply a way to unwrite

Unimaint has tools to support this. Take a look at the INI Compare
features.
