Hello SCOUGians
I believe that Mr. KIA's article is missing an important message:
Changing from a VACC to a GCC needs the delete of the previous =
VACC Mozilla installation !?
It is NO problem to delete this VACC installation ...
=2E.. EXCEPT one has all its data also within the Mozilla folder
structure !
My Netscape or IBM Web Browser 2.02 (=3DMoz 1.4.1) or Mozilla DATA =
are explicitely separated from the applications folder structure !!
E:\OS2\WB\NC4\61 contains the EXECs and =
D:\OS2\WB\NC4\61\Users\MyDomain\MyName contains the DATA
and similar for IWB or Mozilla
E:\OS2\WB\Moz contains the EXECs and =
D:\OS2\WB\Moz\Users\MyDomain\MyName\1abc2xyz contains the DATA !!!
There are NO entries of these APPS in the CONFIG.SYS =
EXCEPT the pathes to these APPS at the very begin of the pathes !!
Comparing the DATA pathes of Netscape and Mozilla you may notice =
an important difference:
In Mozilla "1abc2xyz" SUBSTITUTES an important key which is created =
installing Mozilla and needs to be kept somewhat "unique" like existing
!
Myself I had stopped experimenting with the almost newest Mozilla
(Nightly) =
Builds since they have given me TOO much troubles installing them WITH =
keeping the existing DATA ...
=2E.. more than once I got into troubles and only an extra BACKUP has
saved =
my DATA from being overridden !
I did a secure step back an NOW work with the IBM Web Browser 2.02 at =
time just updated from IBM SWC to MozLevel 1.4.1 ;-))
I am sorry that my weak Swiss-German-English makes my 2 cents looooong =
like a 2 dollar note ;-((
However: Good luck with your Mozilla experiments and a =
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2004

Read the Mr. KIA article.
If we can figure out what Sandy did wrong the first time, we can get the
article updated to avoid it happening to others.
Regards, Steven
