Hi Tom,
Since our last exchange, I have found that -- with the standard info
input into the appropriate config area -- I am getting whatever news I
want on the W2K side, first under Mozilla 1.5 for Win-32, and then
under 32-bit Forte Agent Newsreader. Just like I could under the news
client in NS 4.61 for OS/2. The next thing I will test is Mozilla 1.5
under ECS, and I am expecting that will work also. Therefore,
whatever is preventing ProNews/2 (again, the most recent version) from
making a proper connection with the news servers is apparently a
problem unique to ProNews. I'm sure I told you that nothing I entered
into the config notebook, despite use of "Apply" and "O.K.", will
stick there. The Zipfile of ProNews reported no errors, but maybe
there was some corruption of the program or the install ?
My side question drew no reply: Does ProNews still require a paid
registration, or is that info out of date ? No Unlock Code, or expiry
after 45 days ?
T.I.A.
Jordan
