Hi Tom
As written already:
The sequence of running these 3 tools seems to be very important !?
1. UniMaint
2. CheckINI
3. CleanINI
However partially you were successfull ;-)

Regarding Henk's CheckINI of WPtools, here is the link to the latest =3D
32:
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/cgi-bin/h-search?sh=3D1&button=3DSearch&key=3Dwptool=
32&
stype=3Dall&sort=3Dtype&dir=3D%2F

My hint: Do not delete older CheckINI's like 26 and 29 !
Do use these with the most accurate 32 ...
=2E.. I noticed some different behavior of each !?

Regarding your partition topography of the first HDD I would suggest
following:
Well, here you see 2 C: partitions but no hassles like this because you
do have =

ONLY ONE active C: partition workin at a time ! While working with W2K
your =

OS/2 is hidden safely and opposite ;-))

C1: primary - NTFS - 3012MB W2K Pro
some emty space after this as reserve if needed later
Bootmanager
>> C2: primary - HPFS - 1004MB (!?) - eCS

E: you could use as "Emergency" BootOS2 V 9.26 as Maint 64MB
F: free for another purpose, or perhaps FAT16 as data switcher between
OS/2 and W2K !?

Why is your eCS partition 2008MB ? That's really too or very big !? =

Another hint regarding the primary C: partition for OS2:
All my disks do have a free space of 1004MB at the begin ...
=2E.. to receive a "DriveImage" OS/2 in an emergency case ;-)

In an emergency case (crash of the system HDD) I may be able do =

prepare this free space as a spare primary C instead after placing =

an adequate image from a secure source ;-)

Well, for more hints and suggestions it's difficult without knowing and =

seeing ...
=2E.. at the moment I am having not other enlightnings ;-))

Cheers, svobi

Subject: SCOUG-Help: Template mystery - still

Ok, I ran Cleanini, Checkini, and UniMaint. No more .ini file errors.
My =

ini files went from 3186 to 963 file handles! The system still hangs =

when I try to access the Templates directory, however.

Thanks to Svobi and Steven for the education. As Steven pointed out, =

Cleanini did NOT delete all those files, but just the extraneous
handles.

I forgot to record the ini file sizes before I started the repairs, but =

they are now: OS2.INI =3D 1416348 and OS2SYS.INI =3D 149307.

Svobi, the ZIP.EXE came with eCS, copies of the latest in several =

directories. Also, I am using Checkini V 2.46 which came in the
WPTOOL32 =

package from Hobbes, the latest, I believe.

My disks are set up is as follows, all SCSI:

9.1 GB
Bootmanager
C: Win2K Pro NTFS 3012 MB Pri
F: eCS HPFS 2008 MB Log
E: eCS Maint HPFS 502 MB Log
Freespace 3153 MB

36 GB
G: Apps & data JFS 5002 MB Log
H: empty FAT16 200 MB Log
Freespace 12174 MB Log
K: Data 5004 MB Log
J: Data exch FAT16 1027 MB Log
M: Data HPFS 5002 MB Log
I: Temp JFS 5002 MB Log

2 x 36 GB
D: Multimedia JFS 70 GB Log

All of this came about over the years through various disk acquisitions =

and reconfigurations. I have been through the "dual boot" hassles and =

don't want more than one C: primary partition. Thanks to eCS and LVM, I =

can do what I want to, even though the layout looks a bit wierd!

Any other ideas about the mystery accessing the template
directory/folder?
I just tried zipping the whole Template directory structure. Worked
just =

fine. Access via the WPS kills the system, however.

Thanks again!
