I don't know if any of you are still customers of Pac Bell DSL -- I
think Peter *was* -- which is now becoming SBC-Yahoo DSL. They have
been bugging me on a regular basis to "upgrade" my account. Their
literature indicates that no fundamental changes will be forced upon
us. But, if anyone has already made this transition, I would like to
hear from you. They claim no s/w changes are necessary (unless you
want to partake of a lot of the extra-value stuff they are adding in
to their service, and of course that is going to be Win-centric), yet
the FAQ still mentions a Win or a Mac under "Minimum System
Requirements." I just don't want any part of this until I'm certain
that "outsiders" like us won't get disenfranchised, somehow. The
extra account storage space would be nice, but the rest of it is
pretty irrelevant to me.
