I don't use Embellish much, but I recall that it works a bit differently
that most other paint programs. Once you select the tool and the area,
you need to apply the tool. Just selecting the area is not enough because
you can select multiple areas and tools and apply them all at once.
Without looking, I don't recall how to invoke the apply option, but you
should be able to track it down.
