What is the problem with your 5700?
Mine would print color but not black. I was desperate because it emulates
the HP500 which is supported by the DOS versions of WordPerfect and
QuattroPro. Gave it to a friend who took it apart, could see nothing wrong
electrically. So he put it back together and put the black cartridge in
the color cartridge receptacle and it printed nicely.
He said something was broken in the black cartridge receptacle and told me
to put a little plastic wedge between the cartridge and the receptacle.
Hallelujah. It prints black and color.
Now if I could just make it print envelopes.
