I've used a very good repair shop in the Sherman Oaks area a few times. They're
factory authorized for most major laser and inkjet brands. The work has involved
a fairly quick turnaround, and has (so far) always cost less than what I expected,
except for one laserjet repair where a moderately expensive part had to be replaced.
This may not be worth your driving that far, but let me know if it's of interest.
