Netscape 4.61 should work with DSL. I used it for several years before I
switched to RoadRunner (Time Warner cable). I now use Mozilla 1.3b
which works great and Mozilla 1.3 was just released. I have found
Mozilla to be much more stable than NS 4.61 which hung or crashed on me
on a daily basis.
Does the NS 4.61 Communicator work with your DSL service?
