Config.x is meaningless unless you are booting a system with Alt-F1
support. IBM knows why they put the file on the diskette. I don't.

For the drivers, minor differences in location don't matter. What does
matter is that you use versions that work with your hardware.

ATAPI CD-ROM support has been merged into IBMIDECD.FLT.

As long as you copy the referenced drivers to the diskette, there should
be no problems.

It's up to you. If the diskettes work, they work. Updating them to use
the current drivers will keep them working longer as you upgrade your
hardware.
