I took the Ationtec modem out, and that didn't change anything.

Shut the machine off and reseated the scsi cable a couple of times because
the bootup scsi bios wouldn't move past address 2, hanging the hardware bios
bootup. When it did finally boot, it showed only address 4 (so I still can't
boot Warp) which showed sync at 160 this time.

Mucked around a bit more in the motherbord bios and finally did find
something in there about com2, although I don't know if that was the
parameter you are interested in. I reset the second serial port to enabled
again, without effect.

Here are some bios parameters that may pertain, perhaps you can see
something there:

Section of bios.........
parameter... set to... (other possible settings).........

IRQ/EVENT Activity Detect
 VGA off (on)
LPT & COM lpt/com (none, lpt, com)
 PCI master off (on)

IRQ's Activity Monitoring <<<< what does "monitoring" mean?
IRQ3 com2 enabled <<<< should this be disabled?
 IRQ4 com1 enabled
 IRQ5 lpt2 enabled
 IRQ6 floppy enabled
 IRQ7 lpt1 enabled
 IRQ8 RTC alarm disabled
 IRQ9 IRQ2 redirect disabled
 IRQ10 reserved disabled
IRQ11 reserved disabled <<< troublesome? ... Actiontec modem uses 11
 IRQ12 mouse enabled
 IRQ13 coprocessor enabled
 IRQ14 hard disk enabled
 IRQ15 reserved disabled <<< troublesome?

Questions in my mind right now:

Are the settings above enabling the IRQ's or is this just some sort of
"monitoring" of IRQ's, whatever that might be?

Is it possible that the apparent effects of reseating the scsi cable and
cards are just coincidental? Some sort of shared IRQ issue? If so, why
didn't removing the modem clear them up?

What other bios settings should I be looking for?
