A lot of it uses cookies, which is universal to most web browsers,
independent of operating system. If you use any of the windows spyware
tools, you'll find a lot of the hits are cookies from known data collectors.
Spyware is sort of like spam - it's in the eye of the beholder. Some folks
on this list seem to think a lot of messages are spam that perhaps some
others don't see as a problem. And some folks actually buy those
enhancement products. Likewise spyware, which in the case of cookies is
usually an attempt to make your shopping "experience" more convenient, and
the protocol doesn't really allow for collection of much really personal
info anyway, unless you volunteer it to them, which is why some spyware
programmers caution against some cookies that might seem innocuous to the
untrained eye.

Speaking of spam, I spotted a news blurb recently that says spam has gone up
10% since the latest anti-spam laws. Sleep tight, your politicians are
looking out for you.

I think I can guess the answer to this, but thought I'd run it by
y'all anyway. Is all known Spyware WIN-centric: that is, null & void
as any consideration while running OS/2 | ECS ? (Is this a question
for the Sundial folks ?)
