I have completed some of your instructions from yesterday; the items you
stated could be REMed out in the config.sys file dealing with the pc cards
in the laptop were REMed out. Just for interest, I rebooted and plugged in
the memory card reader. The result was the icon appeared and presto, I
could read the information on the memory card! It works.

I have yet to install drivers for each controller, but viewing the
Hardware Manager page, only one usb controller is listed. I;m not sure
how to install a controller driver, but that will be figured out. No need
to have external floppy drive atm with an internal present. Attached is
current config.sys file that shows action completed on the pc card entries
you directed. Thanks,
