It occurred to me -- what if any chance of success depends upon your make & model of  
drive being on the list of what is explicitly supported by OS2CDROM ?  In that case,  
forget about it, because no version of OS2CDROM to date lists my Pioneer burner.  As a  
matter of fact, I don't think any of them cover *any* Pioneer model.  (Pioneer is a  
very major brand.)  
 
It could be that I won't be able to get anything more out of this burner under OS/2  
than having it accepted as a CD-reader.  That would move all burning activities -- and  
nearly all DVD-stuff -- over to that _other_ platform, where such issues rarely arise.
