OK, thanks. That helps (pun intented). NewView.EXE now loads properly and I have   
access to its online help.  
 
To get it to work I renamed the "NewView.inf" file (that I "created" as a copy of   
"NewView.hlp" from the extracted *.zip) back to NewView.hlp. I guess NewView.EXE   
looks for NewView.hlp, and not NewView.inf, for its online help file.  
 
Strangely, the first time I tried to install, the installer stalled on the fact that NewView.inf   
was not present in the extracted files. And so I "created" it as a copy of NewView.hlp.   
When I installed the second time, the installer found NewView.inf, and installed it, but not   
NewView.hlp (even though both were "present" in the extracted files).
