Jerry,
Good jokes are always appreciated.

However, I would take exception to calling MVS a "dog", unless you are
comparing it to later versions of IBM's top mainframe operating system,
which were renamed to OS/390 and z/OS. IBM has continued to enhance the
operating system regularly.

The world's largest companies have used MVT, MVS, OS/390 and z/OS to
manage their data for over four decades. I've read that something like
78% of all data that is kept on computers still is maintained on the IBM
mainframe hardware and software. If the OS were really a "dog", would
this be the case?

Of course, I could be biased, since I spent 36 years programming on this
hardware / software.
