Yes, some settings. (*) Also had to reprogram my DSL
modem. But I did manage to avoid having to surrender
my fixed IP, or the requirement to use _any_ of their
software -- both dealbreakers. Whatever its other
advantages may be, a fixed IP is the KEY to being able
to run OS/2 (and maybe Linux too ?) with this
SBC-Yahoo package. I can still make use of the good
new features -- web-based mail access & management,
greatly increased mail & online storage space,
automatic but configurable spam filtering -- without
having to also accept the bad. I definitely did not
want to have to use their customized browser etc.,
which is WIN only, and which (reportedly) includes
some sort of tracking spyware that brings you plenty
of targeted advertising, in addition to running more
slowly.
What I was able to arrange is not normally arrangeable
through regular channels, so I definitely had some
good luck coming out of those bad line problems that
took them 4 months and 7 technician visits to
correctly i.d. and repair.
(*) There are some additional, tricky workarounds
involved, if -- like me -- your mail is still being
handled by an older mail client that does not offer
authentication. That problem should go away, after
I've fully moved everything over to Mozilla.
