Jack,
I can't verify those specific symptoms, but if some
web pages continue to load just fine, while others do
not, I'd say it has to be your browser. There are
plenty of sites out there that left 4.61's ability to
cope far behind, a long time ago. The best way to
confirm this is to have a parallel install of recent
issue Mozilla, which you certainly can have. Launch
either of them at will, from your desktop. If Moz
pulls in those sites without a problem, there's your
proof. You don't have to give up one to have the
other, and you don't need to give up using 4.61 where
it can still do the job, if that's your preference.
