Most likely someone messed with the partitions from W2K while you were
away. This can mess up the LVM data. Did you have any JFS partitions on
the drive? If not, you can use VCU or DFSEE to wipe out the LVM data.
This should allow LVM to run and you can redefine the volumes.

DFSee is good to have before you need it. It does a good job of handling
these kinds of issues.
