Ray,
Thanks! Cleaning up CONFIG.SYS has me up and running, apparently using
the previous Mozilla profile, since I start up viewing my e-mail just as
Mozilla 1.4 showed it, and I was notified that I had new e-mail, and I
was able to receive it!

(There were references in LIBPATH and PATH to the Mozilla14 directory.)

As usual, it is terribly easy once you get past that one little
stumbling block.
