Well, SNAP is quite good, but if you have an old video 
card in there, or some old or unusual video built-in 
to the MB, I could easily believe that to be a weak 
link. 
When you say "machine specific", I tend to think in 
terms of the system BIOS.  But those have been fairly 
standard for a long time now, No ?  Anyway, I think we 
proved that my Shuttle itself was not averse to these 
installs, provided conditions were made more 
favorable.
