My experience is that this is often a printer type selection problem in
that the printer receives the data but does not understand it. However,
since you perform some of the functions via the network connection it's
likely the problem is elsewhere.

If the output was misdirectect, how would the test page print work?
I would recommend using iptrace to monitor the traffic to the printer.
This may be helpful. You probably should shut down your browser when you
do this to prevent cluttering up the trace data.
