Steven,
> OK. So now it is time to compare the contents of the two profiles.
I realized how to make a new profile. I compare it, the pristine
profile, with the old, everyday profile. These 5 files are in the
everyday profile, but not the pristine one:
searchplugins (DIR)
components.ini
defaults.ini
downloads.rdf
hostperm.1
Files download or are opened correctly with the everyday profile, except
that it passes are zip files that I download to PMView Pro.
Prefs.js in the pristine profile is very small. I copied it to the
everyday profile, but the download problem persisted.
I will work some more on this vexing problem, but I would appreciate any
help anyone can offer.
Martin
