I've done it but I used that "other" operating system.
It is best if you find software that allows you to monitor the
waveform so that you know if you are over-driving the input, thus
causing distortion. I was also able to do some editing to take out
pops and clicks from the vinyl.
Save the resulting files as .wav and then copy them to a CD. For a
first attempt I was generally satisfied but found it too time
intensive. I was using an older, slow computer so maybe with newer
hardware it won't be so tedious. I'm going to wait until I have a
lot more free time (retire) before I tackle this project again.
