Why would you mention eCS/OS2? Just tell them that files with unusual,
but legal characters in the file name appear to lock up the player.

The dir command is sensitive to the volume format. See the dir command
help in cmdref.inf and read up on what the /N option does. The default is
to display FAT volumes in the old DOS format (i.e. without EAs). HPFS
volumes display in a layout that show the EA sizes.
