Well, I would never call this "nothing happens," but that's a technical detail.  Thunderbird appears to be running, but for some reason the
 Thunderbird window is not displaying on the screen.
 
 
First thing, since you didn't mention the Firefox version, make sure you do your Thunderbird testing with no other Mozilla product running.  Also,
 the only useful testing at this point is from the command line.
 
 
Make sure to test will a fresh profile.
