Hi Jordan, 
The new driver, version 0.9.11, helps some things and makes others worse. 
For one thing, it takes much longer to attach and recognize a very large 
drive. 
With verion 0.9.11, my 250 GB external USB drive would attach in 2 
seconds. With the new driver, 0.9.11, it takes 4 1/2 minutes to attach. 
As far as the sound problem on the Thinkpad T42 -- no change (unless you 
do something mysterious to the SNAP video drivers).
