I think it was Timothy Sipples (who worked at IBM, and
maybe still does) who did a major review of the T40 a
few years back in the VOICE newsletter. When the T41
came out, I emailed him to ask if he thought his
findings would still be valid for it, and did much the
same thing when the T42 came out. In each case, he
said 'Yes.' I don't know about the latest array of
components, but my guess is that the answer would
remain about the same for the T43, give or take a
wireless Nic.

If you search their archives, I think VOICE also took
a look at an R series model.

Whether Lenovo's TP is still a pick of the laptop
litter is another matter. (You didn't quote any
prices.) Steve Schiffman and Gary Wong seem to be
pretty well informed re the latter day ThinkPads.
