I am trying to get a server application program working on my LAN. I am
trying to get it to use a share on one of my OS/2 systems. The vendor says:
You need to make sure that drive and/or path is not requesting any sort
of authentication; that is, it can't require a login and password.
So, the question is: Is there a way to create a share of this type on
eCS? I have tried using Local Network > Sharing and Connecting and "net
share" from the command line, but shares created by both methods are
rejected by this stupid program!
FWIW, the program in question is SlimServer, which streams music files
of many types across a lan to one or more remotes which can then be
connected to amplifiers & speakers. You can play the same music on all
remotes or different music. You can also stream audio from the Internet
(Shoutcast, etc.). All of this can be controlled from either the server
or from the remote. It works great under Windoze, but only if the audio
is on the same machine.
Steven - This is the reason for my trying to get Perl running on eCS.
Thanks!
