Subject: SCOUG-Help: trap 0008

After four days of working (16 hours a day) without problems -- both Warp
4 and eCS were working -- I finally got another trap 8. For whatever it's
worth, I recorded the dump info:

Internal revision 14.103a_W4

Although I had installed and removed several SCSI cards without causing
problems, the trap occured after removing the Adaptec card. It persisted
in both Warp 4 and eCS -- although not in my maintenance partition or in
WinXP. This time reseating the video card did not help.

But I have now pulled the motherboard and put back the old one.

A few observations:

Warp 4 works fine. I had to reconfigure the LAN adapter, but that was no
problem.

I then put back the original LSI Symbios SCSI card, and it worked fine! I
can now access my removable SCSI hard drives.

However, when I tried to access the scanner, the system crashed, both in
OS/2 and in Windows. So I think I need a new scanner.

ECS is still a problem. It boots up to a point where it loads (or tries to
load the genmac driver), and then it hangs. It just sits there. I thought
it might be because of the LAN setup, and I found an old config.sys file
with the original genmac driver.

But it still hangs, just after it says: Genmac driver etc., it just sits
there and won't load any more statements. No hard drive activity. Nothing.

If anyone has any ideas what is wrong, please let me know. I hope I don't
have to reinstall eCS.

Thanks,
Sandy
