RMB on the .JPG icon, then LMB on the arrow at the right end of the Open
as line. You should then see entries for all of the programs on your
system that are associated with the .JPG file type. What you were seeing
is the System Editor, E.EXE trying to load the .JPG file. Since the file
is probably quite large, it was taking some time, and you ran out of
patience and bailed out.
