Sometimes, not always, my desktop shows up after booting with sizing
bars on the left side, less often at the bottom. Once it was too large
to fit the screen and I had to drag it to see all its icons. Why might
this happen? May it be due to my aging monitor not always having the
same size screen? How can you resize the desktop area?
