They still can have issues, but the problems arise from mixing different
versions of the Mozilla dlls. This is why Run! exists. It makes it
easier to handle these issues. I won't bother to explain the gory
technical reasons why these dll conflicts occur. Basically it's a
performance vs. ease of use tradeoff.

I operate similarly, although I keep them in \usr\dll which is on the
application volume. I don't consider these dlls part of the OS.
Since my application mix changes over I try to get rid of older versions
of these dlls every now and them. I move the delete candidates to a
archive directory until I'm sure the dll is really obsolete.
