You can choose to believe anything you wish.

You can attempt to use Run! where it is not needed. It may or may not
cause other issues.

I don't know why. A given gcc based app is linked to a specific version
of libc. Knut has chosen to supply stub dlls for older versions of the 6x
releases. These stubs have the effect of allowing older apps to use
libc063 which has fewer defects than any other version. This is a good
thing and has the side benefit of reducing the footprint of the libc dlls
that must stay installed.

Since this only applies to the libc6x releases, if you have apps that
require other versions of libc such as 5x, you need to keep these around
until the app is updated.

Only if the installer requires them to operate, which might be the case.

I've not scanned the newsgroups to see what is going on with this build.
It may just be a broken build. It happens.

What makes you belive that I am not already more than somewhat familiar
with the gcc and libc releases we are discussing?

IAC, all you need is either the wpi or zip version of libc-0.6.3-csd3.
The big zip is, as it's name implies and the readme states, the install
kit for the GNU Compiler Collection version 3.3.5. It's unlikely you are
going to need it.
