I don't see it that way. Os/2 plays nicer with other systems than MS.

There are common file systems, some require a driver.

JFS is not a problem other than MS does not know what it is.
LVM does not interfere with any other system that I know of.

That is true. If you try to force something it probably will not work.
I look at the entire system and then try to adjust things in a way that makes
all the systems happy.

No need to use Word, Open Office works with Word documents.

I only have two different systems but I look at the one that is the least
configurable and adjust the other to fit. Works great for me.
